This Policy applies to all visitors, job seekers, recruiters, employers, and other users of the Services, regardless of location.
1. Scope and Legal Applicability
APRNJobs.org operates nationally within the United States and is accessible globally. We design our privacy practices to comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws, including but not limited to:
- The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)
- The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA)
- The Colorado Privacy Act (CPA)
- The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)
- The Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA)
- The Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA)
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, where applicable
Where local law provides greater protection or additional rights, those rights apply.
Texas-Specific Notice (TDPSA)
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, certain personal data collected in an employment or business-to-business context (including job applicants and employers) may be exempt from consumer rights requests. Despite this exemption, APRNJobs.org applies consistent data minimization, confidentiality, and security practices to all users, including those located in Texas.
EU and UK Users
APRNJobs.org does not specifically target individuals located in the European Union or the United Kingdom. However, where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data in accordance with those laws.
If required under Article 27 of the GDPR or UK GDPR, APRNJobs will designate an authorized representative and make their contact details available upon request.
2. Personal Data We Collect
Data You Provide Directly
When you create an account, apply for jobs, post positions, or communicate with us, we may collect identifiers and contact information such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, account credentials (stored in hashed form), and IP address. We also collect professional and employment-related information, including job titles, employment history, education, licenses, certifications (including APRN, NP, CRNA, or similar credentials), resume or CV content, cover letters, salary expectations, and application materials.
For paid services, we collect limited commercial and transaction information, such as billing address, subscription details, and payment method type. We do not store full payment card numbers; payment processing is handled by third-party payment processors.
We may also derive inference data based on your interactions with the platform, such as saved jobs, search activity, job alert preferences, and application behavior, to improve relevance and usability.
Data Collected Automatically
When you use the Services, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including browser type, operating system, device type, referring URLs, pages viewed, timestamps, and interaction data. We also collect IP-based, imprecise geolocation data (such as city or state) to support localized job matching.
With consent where required, we may collect advertising and analytics data via cookies and similar technologies to understand usage patterns, measure performance, and deliver relevant advertising.
Users are instructed not to submit sensitive personal data (including health information, biometric data, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, or trade union membership) unless explicitly required and lawful for recruitment purposes. If such data is voluntarily submitted, it is processed solely for the purpose provided and in accordance with applicable law.
3. Purposes of Processing and Data Minimization
We collect and process personal data only to the extent that it is adequate, relevant, and reasonably necessary for the purposes described below.
We use personal data to provide and operate the Services, including creating and securing accounts, facilitating job searches and applications, enabling employer postings, processing payments, and communicating with users. We also use data to maintain, debug, and improve platform functionality; to personalize content and job alerts; and to send marketing communications where permitted by law and subject to opt-out rights.
Personal data may be used to detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents, fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity, and to comply with legal obligations, regulatory requirements, and lawful requests.
Where required under GDPR or similar laws, our lawful bases for processing include performance of a contract, legitimate interests (such as platform security and improvement), consent (such as marketing cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Disclosure of Personal Data
When a job seeker applies for a position, relevant profile information, resumes, cover letters, and contact details are shared with the recruiter or employer associated with that posting. Recruiters and employers act as independent data controllers with respect to applicant data they receive through the Services, and their use of personal data is governed by their own privacy policies and practices.
We engage vetted service providers to support hosting, analytics, customer support, email delivery, payment processing, security monitoring, and infrastructure operations. These providers process personal data only on our instructions and are contractually bound to protect it.
With appropriate consent, we may share limited identifiers and online activity data with advertising and analytics partners to measure performance and deliver relevant advertisements. This may constitute “sharing” (and in limited cases “selling”) under certain U.S. state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA.
We may disclose personal data to legal authorities, regulators, or other parties when required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or others.
We do not knowingly sell sensitive personal data.
5. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of personal data (subject to legal exceptions); obtain a copy of your data in a portable format; and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information and the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
California residents may also exercise their right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information by submitting a request through our Privacy Request process or by enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals in their browser. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as valid opt-out requests where legally required.
We may require verification of identity before fulfilling a request. Verified requests are handled within 45 days, or as otherwise required by applicable law.
APRNJobs does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those necessary to provide the Services, ensure security, comply with legal obligations, or as otherwise permitted by law. Where required, users may exercise the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, maintain security, analyze performance, and deliver advertising.
Essential cookies are required for core functionality and cannot be disabled. Performance and analytics cookies, as well as advertising and targeting cookies, are used only with consent where required by law.
Users are presented with a clear cookie banner providing options to accept, reject, or manage cookie preferences. Cookie preferences may be updated at any time via the cookie management link in the website footer.
7. Data Retention and Security
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We may retain certain information for longer periods where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or preserve evidence.
Job seeker accounts are retained until deleted by the user or after a period of inactivity, generally not exceeding two years. Application data is retained for a reasonable period to allow employer review and compliance with legal obligations.
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring. Uploaded documents and images are processed to remove embedded metadata where technically feasible. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. Children’s Privacy
APRNJobs.org is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 13, and the Services are not directed to individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take steps to delete it.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date and provide notice on the website or by email, as required by law. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
